Our Approach to ABA
In-Home and At-Center ABA Therapy
For someone with autism, it can be challenging to work with a new therapist. Our ABA therapy team, including Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and supervised Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), brings their expertise to the environment where the client is most comfortable—home (in-person or remotely).
We use scientifically proven learning techniques to:
- Teach crucial life skills in a fun manner
- Reduce problem behaviors and provide alternatives
- Build up inherent strengths
- Develop social and communication skills
The ABACA Difference
What We Do
- Develop new skills using fun, play-based methods
- Acknowledge that different children have different needs
- Teach alternatives to unwanted behaviors
- Enable independence and build on a client’s inherent strengths
What We Do Not Do
- Use aversive punishment strategies (i.e., electroconvulsive therapy)
- Try to change the way a client thinks or feels
- Focus solely on eliminating behaviors
- Try to change behavior to fit social norms
